AmaDouro: Hybrid River Cruise Powered by Super B Lithium Batteries

The AmaDouro, a hybrid river cruise ship, was built by Shipyard West Sea in Viana do Castelo, Portugal. The vessel’s electrical system integration was completed by Eaton Industries, incorporating two lithium battery systems totaling 80 kWh.

The battery system consists of 2×39 Super B Nomia 12V160Ah LiFePO₄ batteries, designed to power the ship’s electrical parking on both sides of the Douro River. It provides 250 kW of power for up to 30 minutes, reduces reliance on fossil fuels, and enhances energy efficiency.
